Production Order Statistics

Production Order Statistics Views

The Production Order Statistics page has been extended to provide four distinct views, allowing users to analyze production data based on different metrics, including net weight and cost categories. This flexibility is aimed at improving decision-making and operational efficiency.

Rounding Precision

All four views will adhere to the Rounding Precision (Statistics) setting defined in the Manufacturing Setup. This ensures that data displayed in each view is consistent with company standards for rounding.

Default View

The Default View is the standard presentation of the Production Order Statistics, displaying key metrics as originally designed.

Net Weight View

The Net Weight View in the Advanced Manufacturing Statistics application provides a specialized perspective of production costs calculated based on the net weight of produced items. This view is designed to streamline the analysis of manufacturing costs while focusing on weight-related metrics.

Calculations

To calculate cost per net weight, the same base calculation as the default view is used for Standard Cost, Expected Cost, and Actual Cost, divided by the theoretical output weight (actual finished quantity * item card net weight).

Remarks

  • Quantity: Refers to the quantity from the Production Order Line. If multiple lines exist, it is the sum of all quantities.
  • Finished Quantity: Taken from the Finished Quantity field of the Production Order Line. If only consumption quantities exist, Finished Quantity = 0, and the Actual Cost remains 0.
  • Net Weight: Taken from the Item Card. If multiple Production Order lines exist, the calculation is done by summing costs per line.

Cost Category View

The Cost Category View in the Advanced Manufacturing Statistics application provides a detailed breakdown of costs associated with production orders, categorized by material, capacity, and overhead costs. This view helps users analyze costs more granularly based on the specific cost categories defined in the system.

  • Material Cost Categories: Costs associated with raw materials used in production. Categories are inherited from the field “Material Cost Category” on Item Card from the Items used as Components.
  • Capacity Cost Categories: Costs incurred from work or machine centers during production, including direct labor or machine time. Categories are inherited from the field “Capacity Cost Category” on Work/Machine Center from the ones used on Routing.
  • Capacity Overhead Cost Category: Indirect costs related to production resources. Categories are inherited from “Capacity Overhead Categories” on Work/Machine Center.
  • Manufacturing Overhead Cost Category: Indirect costs associated with the overall manufacturing process. Categories are inherited from “Manufacturing Overhead Category” on Item Card from the Items that are being produced.

Cost Category (Net Weight) View

The Cost Category (Net Weight) View expands on the standard Cost Category View by normalizing all costs based on the Net Weight of produced items. This allows manufacturers to compare production costs across different production orders or products, regardless of their quantities or sizes.

The Cost Category (Net Weight) View enables a deeper understanding of production costs on a per-unit basis.

The system applies the following formulas to calculate costs for each category:

  • Material Cost: Expected and Actual cost presented in Net Weight, divided per Material Cost Category.
  • Capacity Cost: Expected and Actual cost presented in Net Weight, divided per Capacity Cost Category.
  • Capacity Overhead Cost: Expected and Actual cost presented in Net Weight, divided per Capacity Overhead Cost Category.
  • Manufacturing Overhead Cost: Expected and Actual cost presented in Net Weight, divided per Manufacturing Overhead Cost Category.

If multiple Production Order lines exist, calculation is done by summing costs per line.
