Dimension value Update
Finance Essentials allow to change dimensions values on a general ledger entry and to propagate this to other entries.
Changing the dimensions is possible only if the accounting period is not closed.
Update a ledger entry dimension
From general ledger entries, click on Update Dimension, then fill in the new dimension value in the New dimension value code cell.
Update a G/L entry dimension value and extend it to others entries
From the window Edit – Entries Dimensions, update the dimensions and tick the box Extend to others G/L entries.
In this case, the update will be place also on others general ledger entries with the same document No.
Update a G/L entry dimension and process it to others entries types
From the window Edit – Entries Dimensions, update the dimensions and tick the box Extend to others entries types.
In this case, the update will be place also on all kind of entries with the same type and document No. (in fact, the same general ledger transaction).
