Production Order Line
The Production Order Line is enhanced by the Bricklead Production Optimization app to include both Planning Characteristics and Production Line information. These additions enable fine-tuned control of scheduling, sequencing, and production optimization based on item-specific traits and line capabilities.
Setup
To ensure proper setup and visibility of the Production Line and Planning Characteristics:
- Confirm that Factory Planning Setup has defined the desired Planning Characteristics.
- When a Production Order is created, the system:
- Inherits Planning Characteristics from the Item Card or SKU.
- Inherits the Production Line from the Routing assigned to the order.
- If required, edit specific Planning Characteristic values directly in the Production Order Line to reflect unique requirements for a batch or client.
The following fields are added to the Production Order Line table and page:

| Production Line | Displays the Production Line assigned through the Routing of the production order. This field is non-editable. |
| Planning Characteristic 1–10 | Displays Planning Characteristic values inherited from the Item Card or Stockkeeping Unit. Each field relates to a specific Planning Characteristic defined in the Factory Planning Setup. These values are editable per production order line. |
These fields are visible for all production order statuses:
- Released
- Planned
- Firm Planned
- Simulated
- Finished
Business Rules
The Production Order Line logic is governed by the following business rules:

The Production Line field is populated automatically based on the assigned Routing.

Planning Characteristic fields are inherited from the Item or SKU but can be edited for the specific production order line.

Routing Dependency: If a user updates or deletes the Routing No. on the Production Order Line, the Production Line value is automatically updated or cleared.

Dynamic Field Count: The number of Planning Characteristic fields shown matches the number of characteristics defined in the Factory Planning Setup (up to 10).

Production Line Restrictions: If a Production Line is in use on any Production Order Line, it cannot be deleted.

Planning Characteristic Setup Changes: If a Planning Characteristic Code is removed or changed in Factory Planning Setup and is in use in Production Order Lines, the system shows a warning.
