QRS Document Lines on Production Order

QRS Document Lines on Production Order Lines

A new action “Quality Requirements and Specifications” is available on Production Order Lines.

This action is enabled only when:

  • The Item No. on the line is Lot Tracked.

  • The Production Order Status is Planned, Firm Planned or Released.

Assign QRS to Production Order Line

When a Production BOM No. is assigned to a qualifying Production Order Line:

  • The system checks if applicable QRS cards (with Entity Code Type = Production BOM) exist.

    • If no applicable QRS is found → No action is taken.

    • If one or more are found → The selected QRS line (based on QRS priority) is transferred to the Line’s Quality Requirements and Specifications page.

  • Only one QRS line per Production Order Line is allowed.

  • If no QRS is automatically assigned, the user may manually add one (if Item is Lot Tracked).

  • If user manually changes any of the following fields :

    • Item No.
    • Location Code
    • Production BOM No.
    • Starting Date-Time

Then, the QRS Document Line is deleted and re-calculated.

  • These changes don’t happen if:

    • Posted Ledger Entries exist (Item or Capacity)
    • The line is Manually Updated = true, and only Location or Start Date-Time were changed.
  • If item ledger entries exist, no automatic changes are allowed, and the QRS Document Line remains locked (and Blocking Reason = Entries Exist).

  • If no Item or Capacity Ledger Entries exist, the user can manually edit the QRS Document Line.

    • Upon first manual change, Manually Updated = true is set automatically.

    • If entries exist, editing is blocked and all fields are read-only.

Deletion & Status Changes

  • If a Production Order Line is deleted → its QRS Document Line is deleted.

  • If a Production Order is deleted → all related QRS Document Lines are deleted.

  • If the Status of a Production Order changes → QRS Document Lines are transferred to the new order record.

QRS Document Lines on Production Order Components

A new action “Quality Requirements and Specifications” is available on Production Order Components.

This action is enabled only when:

  • The Item No. on the line is Lot Tracked.

  • The Production Order Status is Planned, Firm Planned or Released.

Assign QRS to Production Order Components

When a Production BOM No. is assigned to a qualifying Production Order Component:

  • The system checks if applicable QRS cards (with Entity Code Type = Production BOM Line) exist.

    • If no applicable QRS is found → No action is taken.

    • If one or more are found → The selected QRS line (based on QRS priority) is transferred to the Line’s Quality Requirements and Specifications page.

  • Only one QRS line per Production Order Component Line is allowed.

  • If no QRS is automatically assigned, the user may manually add one (if Item is Lot Tracked).

  • QRS Document Lines will be deleted and recalculated if:

    • The Item No. or Location Code on the Component Line is changed.

    • The Item No., Production BOM No., Version Code, or Starting Date-Time on the Production Order Line is changed.

  • Recalculation is blocked if:

    • Item or Capacity Ledger Entries exist for the Component Line (and Blocking Reason = Entries Exist).
    • The line is marked Manually Updated = true and only Location/Start Date-Time changed.
  • If no Item or Capacity Ledger Entries exist, the user can manually edit the QRS Document Line.

    • Upon first manual change, Manually Updated = true is set automatically.

    • If entries exist, editing is blocked and all fields are read-only.

Deletion & Status Changes

  • Deleting a Production Order Line → deletes related Component QRS Document Lines.

  • Deleting a Production Order → deletes all related QRS Document Lines.

  • Changing the Production Order status → transfers QRS Document Lines to the new production order.

Copy QRS Document Lines

This feature ensures that when Production Orders are duplicated, the associated QRS Document Lines are carried over without being re-evaluated or recalculated, preserving data consistency and user-defined manual updates.

When using action “Copy Prod. Order Document”, then:

  • All QRS Document Lines associated with the Production Order Lines of the source document are copied exactly as-is to the new Production Order.

  • Fields like Manually Updated, Original QRS Code, Original QRS Line No. are preserved.

  • No revalidation or recalculation logic is triggered.
