QRS Validations in Consumption Processes
QRS-based lot validation is automatically enforced in several user workflows where consumption takes place. This includes:
- Inventory Picks
- Consumption Journals
- Production Journals
- Production Order Component Lines (when using Item Tracking Lines)
In all of these contexts, the system checks the lot number being selected or entered and ensures it complies with the active QRS Document Lines linked to the specific Production Order Component.
Validations
When users open the Item Tracking Lines Page to select a lot number for a component line, the system filters the available lots. It shows only those that:
-
Match the QRS Document Line requirements for the specific Production Order Component Line.
-
Are valid according to the item’s lot attributes and QRS-defined constraints (such as minimum shelf life, specific lot attributes, etc.).
-
Even if a user manually types in a lot number (rather than selecting it from the summary page), the system still performs the same QRS validation.
This ensures that non-compliant lots are not even presented for selection, reinforcing correct behavior.
However, action “Ignore QRS” exist, to delete the filters and allows the user to select from all available lots, regardless of whether they meet the original specifications.
