Transport Order

A Transport Order is a request for a transportation service—by road, sea, or air. It includes all the necessary details about how the goods should be shipped and may also include estimated transport costs. It serves as the main document to initiate and manage the transport process.

Transport Costs

Transport Costs are a type of Landed Costs that specifically relate to moving goods from one location to another. These costs can be linked directly to a Sales, Purchase, or Transfer Order, or to a Transport Order itself.

Transport Plan

A Transport Plan is the complete set of Transport Routes defined for an organization. It outlines how goods are typically moved across different regions or countries.

Transport Route

A Transport Route connects a Starting Area to an Arrival Area. It includes key operational details such as the shipping agent and the weekly schedule. These factors help determine the best route to ensure timely delivery to the customer.

Pickup / Delivery Addresses

Pickup and Delivery Addresses are the locations specified in the Sales, Purchase, or Transfer Order where goods are collected and delivered.

Loading / Unloading Addresses

Loading and Unloading Addresses refer to transport hubs—such as ports or airports—used in sea or air shipments. These are the points where goods are physically loaded onto or unloaded from transport vehicles.

Route Sequence

A Route Sequence defines the order in which pickups and deliveries occur along a route. This sequence helps optimize logistics in several ways:

  • Improves truck loading and unloading efficiency.
  • Supports better planning for manufacturing and warehouse operations.
  • Allows early assignment of a shipping agent based on known schedules.

Fuel Surcharge

A Fuel Surcharge is an extra fee added to transportation costs to account for fluctuations in fuel prices. It helps transport providers manage fuel cost volatility and maintain service reliability.
