Transport Planning Worksheet

The transport planner can arrange transportation scheduling and ordering by using the Transport Planning Worksheet, which aims to consolidate transport requirements in one view.

The transport planning worksheet name is created by default when first time opening Transport Planning Worksheet page. However it is possible as many Transport Planning Templates* and ***Transport Planning Worksheets*** as needed. Therefore it is possible for each transport planner to have it’s own worksheet(s).

Using Transport Planning Worksheet

Seach for the Transport Planning Worksheet page.

On the Transport Planning Worksheet, transport planner may use following actions:

Get Transport Request

This action will run a report to collect all the transport request lines (from Sales, Purchase and Transfer Orders). There is one action for each type of document.

Rules of “Get Transport Request”:

  • When pressing this action, only lines that aren’t already defined on Transport Orders will be collected;
  • Only lines of type = Item will be collected;
  • For Purchases and Sales Orders, it will only collect lines having a Shipment Method Code associated with “Transport Required on Purchases” or “Transport Required on Sales” accordingly;
  • For Transfer Orders all the lines will be collected;
  • It is possible to filter the document lines intended to collect per Shipment Method and per Location Code.
  • Fully shipped/received line are not collected.
  • Partially shipped/received lines are collected for the outstanding quatity.

Set Transport Order Type

For each transport planning worksheet line it is possible to set the Transport Order type it is intended to create. By default the value set on Transport Management Setup in Default Transport Order Type field will be used.

Create Transport Order

When clicking on the “Create Transport Order” action on the Transport Planning Worksheet, lines marked as “Create Transport Order” and having a transport order type being defined will be turned into Transport Orders.

Once a Transport Order is created for these lines, they will disappear from Transport Planning Worksheet.

Following business rules will be applied on Transport Order creation:

  • If no Transport Order Type is defined for a transport planning line, then Transport Order can’t be created:

  • If the selected (marked with “Create Transport Order”) lines have the same Transport Order Type and this Transport Order Type is with “multiple address” enabled, then only one Transport Order is created, including all of the selected lines.

  • If more than one Transport Order Type (having “Multiple Address” enabled) is defined on Transport Planning Worksheet lines, then it will be created as many Transport Orders as Transport Order Types defined.

    Example: 3 different Transport Order Types are defined on Transport Planning Worksheet lines (Road - car, Road - truck and Road - train), with multiple addresses enabled.
    Then, it will be created 3 Transport Orders.

  • If the selected lines (marked with “Create Transport Order”) have the same Transport Order Type and this Transport Order type is with “Multiple Address” disabled, then this will create Transport Orders with following grouping rules:

    • Per Source Document Type / Source Document Number (one Transport Order can only contain lines from one source document);

    • Per Transport Order Type;

    • Per Transport Route Code/Pickup Date/Pickup Source Type/Pickup Source No./Delivery Date/Delivery Source Type/Delivery Source No.

  • If the Transport Request Line includes a Route Code, then the Order Type is defaulted with the Default Transport Order Type defined in the Transport Setup and can’t be changed.
