Create Attributes

General

It is possible to define custom attributes for the following entities: Vendor/Customer/Item Attributes and Lot No. Attributes. Defining attributes for all these entities is a similar process. Just pay attention to select the correct list (Vendor Attributes, Customer Attributes, Item Attributes or Lot No. attributes) to make sure you are creating the attribute for the correct usage.

It is possible to have two attributes having the same name for two different supporting entities.
Example: Define an “origin” attribute as both vendor and lot no. attribute.

To define attributes

  1. On the search bar, search for attributes:

It will appear all the entities where you can setup attributes (Item, Vendor, Customer and Lot no);

  1. Choose the related link (where you want to create attributes);

  2. On the Attributes page, choose “New” action:

  3. On the Attribute page, fill the necessary fields. Pass the mouse on the field (hover over) to read a short description of the field:

    • Name: General name for the attribute will be used as caption description when attribute is displayed. If you need that name to be translated in other languages use the Translations action.

    • Type: Can be Options, Text, Date, Integer or Decimal. Defining the type will enable/disable some fields/actions.

      Field Description
      Options you have to define the Option Values using the Attributes Value action;
      Text you can write the respective attribute value;
      Date you can define a date for the attribute, when assigning the attribute (not on setup);
      Integer you can define a number value (accept whole numbers, but not decimal) per unit of measure, when assigning the attribute;
      Decimal you can define a number, per unit (accepts decimal), when assigning the attribute.
    • Priority: select the priority of the attribute (select from 1 to 5, regarding the highest priority to the lowest). The attributes can have the same priority if they are from different types. For an attribute to appear on the purchase lines/factbox value, must have a priority assigned, regardless the priority no.

    • Blocked: setup to True to block the attribute and make it unusable.

    • Values: Only available when selected type is Option. Open the Option Values by clicking on the field and click on “New” to create attribute values

    • Unit of Measure: Only available when selected Type is Integer or Decimal. Use is to define specific unit of measure for this attribute.
