Advanced Planning

Release: Advanced Planning – 28.0.9762.40716

Description

This release addresses critical localization issues in the Demand Forecast Import/Export process within the Advanced Planning extension. The primary focus is on fixing failures that occurred when users operated Business Central in non-English languages (e.g., French, German, etc.). The import process relied on hard-coded English column headers and enum values, causing errors for localized environments. Additionally, a French translation correction was applied to the “Import Demand Forecast” caption on the Demand Forecast Card page. Translation files for all supported languages (de-AT, de-DE, de-CH, es-ES, fr-BE, fr-CA, fr-CH, fr-FR, it-CH, it-IT, nl-BE, nl-NL, pt-PT) have been updated accordingly.

Bugs

Title Description Impact on previous version
[24519] – Incorrect Translation of “Demand Forecast Import” in French The French translation of the “Import Demand Forecast” action on the Demand Forecast Card page (Page 2901) was incorrectly displayed as “Prévisions de la demande d’importation” instead of “Importation Prévision de la demande”. Translation files (.xlf) for all supported languages have been corrected. No breaking change. Users operating in French will now see the correct caption. No migration required.
[24552] – Import Demand Forecast Fails for Non-English User Languages The Demand Forecast import process failed when the user’s language was not English. The root cause was twofold: (1) In Codeunit 8121117 (briAPL_ImportDemandForecastMgt), Excel column headers were matched using hard-coded English strings (“No.", “Description”, “Variant Code”, “Location Code”, “Unit of Measure Code”, “Entry Description”) instead of translated FieldCaption() calls, causing column index resolution to fail. (2) Enum values for Demand Forecast Type, Analysis Period Type, and boolean parameters were evaluated using Evaluate without handling localized caption values, causing runtime errors. The fix replaces hard-coded strings with FieldCaption() and label variables, introduces [TryFunction]-based safe evaluation helpers (EvaluateDemandForecastType, EvaluateAnalysisPeriodType, EvaluateBoolean), and improves error messaging (new ForecastSheetNotFoundErr label). Additionally, Page 8121108 (briAPL_ImportDemandForecast) now displays an explicit message when the file upload dialog is canceled. No breaking change. The fix is backward-compatible. Existing exported Excel files will continue to work. Users in non-English languages will now be able to import demand forecasts without errors. Impacted objects: Page 8121108, Codeunit 8121117.
