Batch Size Lot Movements

The Manufacturing Batch Size module enforces restrictions to prevent the division or merging of lots marked as batch size lots. These controls ensure the integrity of batch-based production tracking.

Partial Reclassification or Lot Merging

When a Reclassification Journal Line includes a Batch Size Lot, the following validations and actions will occur:

• If the New Lot No., New Location Code, or New Bin Code fields are different from their existing values, and the Quantity differs from the total lot quantity, the system will prompt the user with a confirmation message:
  “You are trying to update the Quantity/Lot No. of a Batch Size Lot. Do you want to continue?"

User Options:

• Yes: The system will perform the reclassification following standard procedures. The Batch Size Lot field in the Lot No. Information Card will be disabled for both the original and new lots.
• No: The reclassification will not be posted.

Full Lot Reclassification

If the Reclassification Journal involves the total quantity of a Batch Size Lot being moved to a new Lot No., the new lot will inherit the Batch Size Lot designation.

Advanced Attributes Extension

If using the Advanced Attributes Extension, where Lot No. Information Cards already exist during reclassification, the system will check the existing Lot No. Information Card for the new Lot No. If the previous lot was marked as a Batch Size Lot, the new lot will also inherit this setting.
