Production Order

To streamline batch-specific production, the Production Order Header has been updated with two new fields: Batch Quantity and Batch Production Order. These fields are critical for ensuring that production orders align with batch manufacturing requirements and provide clear visibility into batch-specific processes.

Actions

A new action, Mat. Requisition per Batch, is available in all statuses of the Production Order. This action generates a report listing material requirements per batch. See Mat. Requisition per Batch Report.

Working with Production Orders

• Batch Quantity and Batch Production Order are visible only if Source Type = Item and are non-editable.

• If the Production Order quantity exceeds the batch size, multiple orders are created (one production order per batch size), and the Batch Production Order field is set to True.

• If Production Order Batch = Yes, changing the Production BOM No. on the lines will not affect the components as it would under standard behavior. Instead, a warning message will appear.

Non-Editable Fields and Restrictions

• If Production Order Batch = Yes, the Quantity field on the Production Order Lines will be non-editable, and the user cannot add lines manually.

• The Batch Production BOM field will inherit its value from the corresponding field in the Production Order Header.

Scrap Handling

• Scrap values, whether fixed or percentage-based, are not applied in batch production on the component’s quantities.

• If a Routing with additional scrap is selected for a Production Order Batch, the following notification will appear after refreshing the Production Order or changing the Routing Code:
  “Scrap value wasn’t taken into consideration when calculating the Prod Order Component needs.”

Prod. Order Component Lines

To enhance the management of production components for batch manufacturing, the Prod. Order Component Line includes two new fields: % Batch Quantity and Quantity per Batch. These fields ensure that batch-specific quantities are calculated accurately and consistently for all production orders.

Working with Prod Order Component Lines

• For Calculation Formula = Fixed Quantity per Batch, the Quantity per field is non-editable, and the user must enter Quantity per Batch.

• If the Production BOM has Batch Size BOM = No, both fields (Quantity per Batch and % Batch Quantity) are non-editable.

• Manually adding or deleting lines in a Batch Production Order triggers warnings:

  • “The composition of the Batch is no longer aligned with the initial setup of the Batch Production BOM.”
