Packaging Management
Description
This release addresses a critical performance issue encountered during the Sales Shipment posting process. The root cause was identified in the SetPostedDocumentTypeOnPackagingFilter procedure within the briPCK_PackagingLinesMgt codeunit, where an incorrect filter group context led to broader-than-intended record modifications, causing excessive SQL locking and significant delays (up to 30 seconds) when posting shipments. The fix ensures that the “Source Subtype” filter is always read from the correct filter group (FilterGroup 0), preventing unintended record scope expansion and dramatically improving posting performance. This improvement is particularly relevant for Food & Beverage customers processing high volumes of sales shipments.

| [24595] – Performance issue when posting Sales Shipment | When posting a sales shipment, the system could experience significant performance degradation (up to 30 seconds for a few lines). The SQL query related to packaging lines filtering was identified as the most time-consuming operation. The fix corrects the SetPostedDocumentTypeOnPackagingFilter procedure in Codeunit 71925783 briPCK_PackagingLinesMgt to properly switch to FilterGroup(0) before reading the “Source Subtype” filter, then restore the original filter group. This prevents the ModifyAll on PackagingQuantityShippedFilter/PackagingQuantityReceiveFilter from affecting unintended records, eliminating excessive locking. |
Low risk. The fix narrows the scope of record modifications to the intended subset. No breaking changes. Existing integrations using the OnBeforeCheckRegisteredWhsePickExists event are unaffected (event signature unchanged). |
