Integration with Manufacturing Essentials

Manufacturing Essentials

The Production Scenarios Extension does not rely directly on the Manufacturing Essentials App.

However, there are a few validations when both extensions are used together.

Co-Product/By-Product

The Production Scenarios feature allows for the same item to be produced in different ways.

In contrast, the Manufacturing Essentials App lets users define additional items that are made alongside a main product. These additional products are known as Co-Products or By-Products, and they do not have their own production scenario because they are produced in the same way as the main item.

When the Manufacturing Essentials App is installed, the “Process Type” field cannot be filled in for Production Order Lines marked as Co-Products.

This means that if an item has a default Production Scenario associated with it, that information will not be inherited for Co-Products in the Production Order Lines. Co-Products do not have Production Scenarios.

Additionally, for Production Order Lines categorized as Co-Products, the “Change Production Scenario” action is disabled.

Multiple Order Consumption

When both the Production Scenarios and Manufacturing Essentials apps are installed, a few checks are implemented:

  • For Production BOM Lines: If an item is marked as a Process Item (a field created in the Manufacturing Essentials App), the “Reference Item” field cannot be activated. An error message appears in this case.

  • For Production Order Component Lines: If an item is marked as a Process Item, the “Reference Item” field also cannot be activated. Again, if a user attempts to activate this field, the same error message appears.
