Setup & Configurations

The Setup & Configurations section defines how Production Scenarios is initialized and how core data structures are prepared to support flexible manufacturing execution.

The configuration of the app is centered on Process Types, Production Scenarios, and the Assisted Setup, which together determine how production data (BOMs, routings, and planning behavior) is applied across the system.

Assisted Setup

Production Scenarios provides an Assisted Setup to help users quickly configure the application.

To access it:

  • Use the Search bar and select Set up Production Scenarios

The Assisted Setup allows you to:

  • Initialize the app configuration
  • Automatically create a default demo dataset for Process Types (optional)
  • Ensure all required base records exist to start working with the app

Process Types Setup

Process Types are the foundation of Production Scenarios. They define the different production approaches that can be used to manufacture the same item.

Purpose

  • Classify different manufacturing methods
  • Enable multiple production scenarios per item
  • Control whether a scenario is treated as a family-based process

On Process Types page, fill the following fields:

Field Description
Code Specifies the Process Type.
Name Specifies the Process Type description.
Family Specifies if the Process Type corresponds to a Family.
