Inbound Transactions
Inbound transactions using License Plates involve the creation and assignment of License Plate numbers during the receipt of goods into the warehouse.
When inventory arrives, License Plates are generated and attached to groups of items (such as pallets or containers) as they are processed through warehouse receipts or inventory put-away.
Create License Plate No.
The standard function Assign Package No. on Item Tracking Lines was replaced by a new one called Create License Plate No., where you can assign one or more License Plate numbers to either all undefined quantity or only for the selected line.
To create new License Plates on inbound transactions for locations that requires License Plate Tracking, fill the following fields:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Create License Plate Nos For | Specifies whether License Plates should be created for the total undefined quantity, or just for the quantity of the selected line. |
Item No. | Specifies the item number for which the License Plate(s) will be created. |
Variant Code | Specifies the variant code for which the License Plate(s) will be created. |
License Plate Type | Specifies the License Plate Type for which a License Plate number will be generated. |
Quantity | Specifies the quantity that should be assigned to new License Plates. |
Quantity per License Plate | Specifies the quantity that will be assigned per License Plate. |
Unit of Measure Code | Specifies the unit of measure code as selected on the document line. |
Quantity per License Plate (Base) | Specifies the quantity of items that will be assigned per License Plate expressed in the Base Unit of Measure Code. |
Base Unit of Measure Code | Specifies the base unit of measure of the item. |
Number of License Plates | Specifies the quantity of License Plates to be automatically generated by dividing the quantity specified in the document line by the ‘Quantity per License Plate’ and rounding up. Users have the option to reduce the number of License Plates, leaving some items ‘undefined’ for manual allocation to any of the generated License Plates on the item tracking lines. |
For locations that does not require tracking by License Plate, if you click on Create License Plate No, in the License Plate No it will automatically appear the value that is configured in “License Plate No. Untracked Locations” ( License Plate Setup).
For inbound transactions, when one or more lot/serial numbers already have been assigned in the item tracking lines with their respective quantities, this new function will split up the selected item tracking line, based on the number of License Plates calculated, and maintain the already defined tracking information.
Using Inventory Put-away
When the location requires Inventory Put-away, it is also possible to Create License Plate No. This new function is, in this case, present on the Inventory Put-away Lines.
Using Warehouse Receipt/Warehouse Put-away
When the location requires only Warehouse Receipt, the Create License Plate No is visible on the Item Tracking Lines from the Warehouse document. If the tracking information is populated on the source document, that information is inherited.
If the location also requires Warehouse Put-away, when a warehouse receipt gets posted, a warehouse put-away is also created. By using the License Plating, the warehouse put-away lines are splitted per Lot Number/Serial Number and License Plate Number.
When one License Plate is assigned to multiple Warehouse Put-away lines within the same document, changing one of the “place” bin codes, will automatically change all the “place” bin codes to the newly selected bin code for that specific License Plate. This will prevent placing one License Plate onto multiple bins, since this is not allowed.
