License Plate Labels

In the License Plate Card and License Plate List, users can select different actions to print specific types of labels:

  • Print LPN Labels: Prints internal labels.
  • Print SSCC Labels: Prints labels showing only the SSCC value/barcode (used when the License Plate contains multiple items/lots).
  • Print SSCC per Item/Batch Labels: Prints one label per License Plate/Item/Batch, with SSCC, lot/serial, and item information.

For each print action, the system determines the correct layout based on the License Plate Type and Usage settings in the License Plate Report Selection. The behavior for each action is as follows:

  • Print LPN Labels: The system checks if the Usage is set to License Plate Label (LPN) and uses the corresponding Report ID/Report Layout.
  • Print SSCC Labels: The system checks if the Usage is set to Shipping Container Code (SSCC) and applies the correct Report ID/Report Layout.
  • Print SSCC per Item/Batch Labels: The system checks if the Usage is set to SSCC by Product and Batch Label and prints the associated Report ID/Report Layout.

If there is no defined Report Layout for the selected combination of License Plate Type and Usage, the system displays an error message appears.

When selecting multiple rows in the License Plate List, labels can only be printed if all selected lines share the same License Plate Type. If multiple types are selected, the following error is shown: “Labels cannot be printed for multiple License Plate Types.”

In License Plating, you can print new License Plate numbers in advance without directly assigning them to existing inventory. To do this, users must select the appropriate License Plate Type and Label Type.

Setup

In the Print New License Plate Labels, fill the following fields:

Field Description
License Type Specifies the type of the License Plate.
Label Type Specifies type of label to be printed: License Plate Label (LPN): Prints the internal License Plate Number (LPN); Shipping Container Code (SSCC) Label: Prints only the SSCC number.
Create License Plate Card Specifies if the License Plate Card Header should be created when printing the label(s)
Number of Labels Specifies how many new License Plate labels should be printed.

Key Features

Label Type: License Plate Label (LPN)

When the Label Type is set to License Plate Label (LPN), numbers are generated based on the number series defined in the License Plate Nos. field on the License Plating Setup page.

Label Type: Shipping Container Code (SSCC) Label

For SSCC Label, numbers are created using:

  • SSCC Nos
  • SSCC Company Prefix
  • Check Digit

The system will validate that this combination results in an 18-digit number. If not, the following error will appear: “SSCC License Plate Number must have 18 digits. Please check SSCC configurations on Company Information.”

If an invalid combination of License Plate Type and Label Type is selected, and the configuration is missing in the License Plate Report Selection, the following error will occur: “The Report Selections table is empty.”

No labels will be printed in this case.

License Plate Card Creation

  • Create License Plate Card = Yes: A License Plate Card Header will be generated.
  • Create License Plate Card = No: No License Plate Card will be created.
Both label types (LPN and SSCC) will share the same layout.

SSCC by Product and Batch Label Report

It is possible to print the SSCC by Product and Batch Label, containing the following information:

  • Lot No.;
  • Serial No.;
  • Item No.;
  • GTIN (uses Item Reference No. with Barcode type);
  • Variant Code;
  • Expiration Date;
  • Quantity;
  • SSCC.

To print the SSCC by Product and Batch Report:

On License Plate List or License Plate Card, click on “Print” –> “Print SSCC per Item/Batch Label(s)”

Label Layout

Top of the Label

The following information is printed at the top of the label:

  • Company Name
  • VAT Registration No.; Address; City; Post Code
  • Phone No.; Email; Home Page

Note: All this information is available in the Company Information table.

Central Part of the Label

The following information is printed in the central part of the label:

  • Date: Prints the current date
  • Time: Prints the current time
  • SSCC: Prints the SSCC License Plate No.
  • GTIN: Prints the Item Reference No. with Barcode type; 14 digits are mandatory
  • Item No.: Prints the Item No.
  • Item Description: Prints the item description
  • Quantity: Prints the quantity in base units
  • Lot No.: Prints the Lot No. (if available)
  • Serial No.: Prints the Serial No. (if available)
  • Expiry Date: Prints the expiration date (if available)

Bottom of the Label

The following barcodes should be printed at the bottom of the label:

  • First Barcode (SSCC-128): Includes the following elements:
    • (01) GTIN (use Item Reference No. with Barcode type)
    • Quantity in base unit of measure (AI 37)
    • Lot No. (AI 10) (if available)
    • Serial No. (AI 21) (if available)
    • Expiration Date (AI 17) (if available)
  • Second Barcode (SSCC-128): Includes the element:
    • SSCC (AI 00)

Shipping Container Code (SSCC) Label Report

It is possible to print the SSCC Label, containing the following information:

  • SSCC

To print the SSCC Label:
On License Plate List or License Plate Card, click on “Print” –> “Print SSCC Label(s)”

Label Layout

Top of the label:

It is printed the following information:

  • Company Name
  • VAT Registration No; Address; City; Post Code
  • Phone No; Email; Home Page

Note: All this information is present on the Company Information table.

Central part of the label:

It is printed the following information:

  • SSCC: – Should print the SSCC License Plate No;

Bottom of the label:

It is printed the following information:

  • Barcode (SSCC-128) with the following element:
    • SSCC (AI 00);

License Plate Label (LPN) Report

It is possible to print the License Plate Label, containing the following information:

  • License Plate No;
  • Item No;
  • Item Description;
  • Lot No;
  • Serial No;
  • Expiration Date;

It is printed a Barcode (Code 39) with the License Plate No.

To print the License Plate Label:

On License Plate List or License Plate Card, click on “Print” –> “Print License Plate Label(s)”
