License Plating Setup

License Plating has a specific page for Setup, to set standard information to be used on License Plating related actions:

Setup page is divided in three tabs: General, Number Series and SSCC.

In General tab, fill the following fields:

Field Description
Multiple Items Allowed Specifies if it is possible to place different Items together on a License Plate.
Multiple Lots Allowed Specifies if it is possible to place different Lots together on a License Plate.
Item Journal Template Name Specifies the Journal Template applied when transferring selected Items from one License Plate to another and when executing License Plate Transfers through the ‘Move License Plate’ functionality.
License Plate No. for Untracked Locations Specifies the default License Plate number given to all License Plates located at Locations with the toggle ‘Require License Plate Tracking’ turned off.
Default License Plate Type Specifies the License Plate Type that will be assigned per default when creating new License Plates.

In the Number Series tab, fill the following fields:

Field Description
License Plate Nos. Specifies the Number Series code that will be used to assign License Plate numbers.
Ship License Plate Nos. Specifies the Number Series code that will be used to assign Ship License Plate numbers in a Warehouse Pick and Inventory Movement.
Unplanned Movement Nos Specifies the Number Series used when License Plates are moved via the function ‘Move License Plate’. This Number Series will be filled as Document No. in the Item Reclassification Journal line.

In the SSCC tab, fill the following fields:

Field Description
SSCC as License Plate Specifies if the License Plate Number is set with SSCC unique identifier number.
SSCC as Ship License Plate Specifies if the Ship License Plate Number is set with SSCC unique identifier number.
The SSCC configurations are defined on the page Company Information.

Company Information

This way, in the Company Information, on SSCC Setup tab, fill the following fields:

Field Description
Extension Digit Specifies a number between 0 to 9. Used to increase the capacity of the Serial Reference within the SSCC.
Serial Reference Nos. Specifies a globally unique number assigned to a GS1 member company.
SSCC GS1 Company Prefix Specifies number allocated to identify a logistic unit.

License Plating Assisted Setup

The Assisted Setup will guide you through the installation process of the License Plating app.

For that, search for “Assisted Setup” and select “Set Up License Plating”.

  • You can use Assisted Setup to create a demo/test data set for the application. This would create:
  1. License Plate Types
  2. License Plating Number Series
  • It’s also possible to setup information for SSCC (fields on Company Information).

Inventory Setup

The “Package Caption” is set as “License Plate” by default and cannot be changed.

Permissions

Setting the correct permissions in the License Plating app is essential to ensure that users can efficiently manage License Plates according to their roles and responsibilities.
By assigning the appropriate permission sets, businesses can control who can perform key tasks such as managing License Plates, posting transactions, or deleting empty License Plates.
This ensures data security, prevents unauthorized changes, and promotes accountability across users with varying levels of access.

  • ((BRILPL_READER)) - “License Plating - Reader” - Users using this Permission Set can read all tables related to License Plating.
  • ((BRILPL_BASIC)) - “License Plating - Basic” - Users using this Permission Set can access (edit, delete and post) all tables related to License Plating, except delete License Plates, manually or through the Report “Delete Empty License Plates”.
  • ((BRILPL_ADMIN)) - “License Plating - Admin” - Users using this Permission Set can access (edit, delete and post) all tables related to License Plating.
