Transfer Items From License Plate Tracked to Non-Tracked Locations

A non-tracked location refers to a location where the Require License Plate Tracking toggle is disabled. To transfer items from a location with License Plate tracking to a non-tracked location, users should not use the Move License Plate function. Instead, they should utilize the Transfer Order or the Item Reclassification Journal.

Using the Item Reclassification Journal

When transferring a License Plate from a tracked to a non-tracked location using the Item Reclassification Journal, the user must manually fill the New License Plate No. field in the Item Tracking Lines with the License Plate No. Untracked Locations value. There is no automated action to perform this update.

If the user attempts to post the Item Reclassification Journal without updating the New License Plate No. to License Plate No. Untracked Locations, the system will display an error message.

Also, the standard action Assign Package No. is not visible or enabled in the Item Tracking Lines when using the Item Reclassification Journal.

Using a Transfer Order

When using a Transfer Order to move a License Plate from a tracked location to a non-tracked location, the License Plate number will be automatically updated during shipment, provided that the receiving location does not require a warehouse receipt. Specifically:

• Upon posting the transfer shipment, the License Plate number will be replaced with the value set in the LP No. Untracked Locations field on the License Plating Setup page for the Transit Location.

For transfers where the receiving location requires only a Warehouse Receipt, the License Plate number will be replaced during shipment. On the Warehouse Receipt page, the user should be able to select the receiving bin, which will already have the License Plate No. filled with the value from the LP No. Untracked Locations field.

For cases requiring Warehouse Put-away, the License Plate No. Untracked Locations should also be visible on the Warehouse Put-away Line.

Direct Transfer Restrictions

If the Transfer-From and Transfer-To locations have different settings for Require License Plate Tracking, a Direct Transfer is not allowed. When attempting to enable the Direct Transfer option with differing License Plate tracking requirements, the system will display an error message.

This restriction applies regardless of the option selected for Direct Transfer Posting in the Inventory Setup (whether Receipt and Shipment or Direct Transfer is selected).
