Consumption Journal
The Consumption Journal is enhanced to manage over-consumption scenarios by incorporating checks for variances. These enhancements include the addition of Variance Policy, Under Consumption Tolerance (%), and Over Consumption Tolerance (%) fields, which control whether over-consumption is allowed, and the actions taken when it occurs.

Business Rules
When posting a consumption line in the Consumption Journal, the system checks the Variance Policy defined on the source Production Order Component Line. Based on the Variance Policy, the system performs the following checks for over-consumption:
Variance Policy = Warning
-
If the total consumption (sum of already posted consumption + new line consumption) exceeds the tolerance set in the source Production Order Component Line, a warning is displayed.
- If the user selects Yes, the Quantity to Handle is updated accordingly.
- If the user selects No, no changes are made, and the line cannot be posted.
-
If multiple items exceed the tolerance, the system displays an error for the first item. The user must correct it before proceeding. The system will display the next error after re-attempting the post.
Variance Policy = Blocked
-
If the total consumption exceeds the defined tolerance, an error is displayed.
-
The posting is blocked until the recorded consumption meets the maximum allowed variance criteria.
Variance Policy = None
- No warnings or errors are shown. The system records the actual consumption as reported (standard behavior).
