Introduction

Key Usage Scenario’s

With a focus on process manufacturing, this extension is meticulously designed to address the unique challenges encountered in production operations, such as backflushing for lot-tracked items.

The standard backflush functionality is enhanced to automatically calculate and post lot-tracked items when using the backward flushing method. Additionally, it extends to automatically assign item tracking codes at all possible steps of the production process.

This extension supports the following key usage scenarios:

  • Automated Consumption Tracking in Production Orders
  • Managing Expiry-sensitive Inventory with FEFO (First Expired, First Out)
  • Preventing Errors Due to Insufficient Inventory
  • Managing Blocked Lots and Packages
  • Handling Bin and Location Codes During Backflushing

Not Supported

Following scenario’s are not supported by this app,

  • Automatic Lot/Package assignment will not work for Process Items (See Multiple Order Consumption and Movement Distribution) nor items tracked by Serial No.
  • Automatic Lot/Package assignment will not work in consumption locations with Advance Warehouse (with Directed Put-away and Pick).
  • Automatic Lot/Package assignment will not work if “Prod. Consumption Whse. Handling” on the consumption Location is “Warehouse Pick (mandatory)”.

Key Concepts and Definitions

  • Backflushing: Backflushing is an inventory management technique used in manufacturing to streamline the tracking of materials and components. Instead of recording inventory movements in real-time as items are produced, backflushing automatically deducts the necessary materials from inventory after the production process is completed.
