First Steps with Recipe Instructions
Review Recipe Instructions Setup
After installing the Recipe Instructions app, the first recommended step is to review the manufacturing-related setup:
- Open Manufacturing Setup from the Search menu.
- Review the Recipe Nos. field, which defines the number series used when creating new recipes.
This setup ensures that recipes are correctly numbered and consistently managed across the system.
Start Using Recipe Instructions
Once the setup is complete, users can begin working with Recipe Instructions as part of daily manufacturing operations:
- Open the Recipe List to review existing recipes or create a new one.
- Create or maintain a Recipe by defining:
- Produced Item
- Production BOM and version
- Routing and version
- Add detailed instructions and component-related information through Recipe Lines.
- Attach relevant documents (such as work instructions or quality guidelines) directly to the recipe.
- Manage changes over time by using recipe versions.
- Link recipes to production orders to ensure operators follow the correct instructions during execution.
This process ensures consistent production, clear instructions on the shop floor, and proper traceability.
