Pages and UI Reference
This chapter describes the main pages introduced by the Recipe Instructions app, their purpose, and how they are used within Dynamics 365 Business Central to manage production recipes and instructions.
Recipe List
The Recipe List page provides an overview of all recipes defined in the system. It is the primary entry point for users to search, review, and open recipes for maintenance or review.
Purpose
- View all existing recipes
- Search and filter recipes by item, BOM, or routing
- Open a recipe card for detailed maintenance
- Create new recipes

Recipe Card
The Recipe Header contains the core identification and versioning information for the recipe. Each recipe is defined by a unique combination of item, BOM, and routing. Recipe Lines define the detailed ingredients, operations, and instructions required to execute the recipe during production. These lines complement the Production BOM and Routing by providing clear, directed instructions to shop floor users.

Key Fields
- No. - Unique recipe number, assigned using the number series defined in Manufacturing Setup.
- Description - Description of the recipe.
- Item No. - Item produced by the recipe.
- Production BOM No. - Production BOM used by the recipe.
- Production BOM Version Code - Version of the Production BOM assigned to the recipe.
- Routing No. - Routing used during production.
- Routing Version Code - Version of the routing assigned to the recipe.
- Version Nos. - Number series used to manage recipe versions.
Production Order Recipe
The Production Order Recipe represents the application of a Recipe on a specific production order. It ensures that the correct, approved, and version‑controlled instructions are available during production execution.
Purpose
- Ensure production orders are executed using the correct recipe configuration
- Provide clear, standardized instructions to shop floor users
- Maintain traceability between production execution and recipe versions
- Reduce production errors caused by incorrect or outdated instructions.
Behavior during Prodution Execution
- Provides operators with structured, step‑by‑step instructions
- Supplements Production BOM and Routing information with detailed guidance
- Makes attached documents available directly within the production context
Version Control and Traceability
- Introduce controlled changes to production processes
- Preserve historical recipes used for past production orders
- Ensure each production order references the correct recipe version
