Overview

SSCC stands for Serial Shipping Container Code, providing a unique company identifier for a shipped container or package. SSCC Management is designed to organize the packaging of shipped items — and can result in a package label that is used for further tracking throughout the entire logistics flow. One base limitation of Dynamics 365 Business Central is that you can assign only one package tracking number per sales document. But when shipping large numbers of goods, you may require more granularity. SSCC Management addresses this by creating SSCC Lines that support the link between the sales/shipping document and the SSCC label. This offers the possibility to create multiple SSCCs per sales line (for example, three pallets to ship one sales line) or group several orders on the same SSCC (for example, two small orders for the same customer on the same day shipped on one pallet).Bricklead’s SSCC Management app allows you to:

  • Create SSCCs from Inventory Pick or Warehouse Pick documents
  • Enable SSCC management per location
  • Create single or multiple sales order SSCCs
  • Check which warehouse employee is currently working on an SSCC
  • Track SSCC content and define SSCC package types
  • Interact with SSCC management from external services or software via a dedicated API

Note for Food & Beverage users: Each SSCC line captures the item, quantity, unit of measure, lot number, serial number, expiration date, and warranty date — enabling full forward and backward lot traceability on every shipped package.
