Setting the correct permissions in the Batch Size app is essential to ensure that users can efficiently manage Batch Size Production according to their roles and responsibilities. By assigning the appropriate permission sets, businesses can control who can perform key tasks. This ensures data security, prevents unauthorized changes, and promotes accountability across users with varying levels of access.

• (BRIMBS_READER) - MBS - Reader - Users using this Permission Set can read all tables related to Batch Size;
• (BRIMBS_BASIC) - MBS - Basic - Users using this Permission Set can access (edit, delete and post) all tables related to Batch Size.

Data Retention and Privacy

Data Storage

• Manufacturing Batch Size stores its operational and configuration data directly in the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central database. This includes batch-related setup and execution data introduced on standard manufacturing entities such as Items, Production BOMs, Production Orders, Planning Components, and Lot No. Information.
• The app does not introduce a separate external storage layer for production data. Batch-specific values such as Batch Size Item, Batch Quantity, Batch Production Order, Batch Size Lot, and related calculation or validation fields remain part of the Business Central data model and are therefore retained according to the customer’s standard Business Central data lifecycle and retention policies.

Privacy and Personal Data

• Manufacturing Batch Size is designed to support manufacturing and traceability processes. The data it handles is primarily operational business data, such as item configuration, production quantities, lot identification, and inventory movement controls, rather than personal data by design.
• Where personal data may appear, this is typically limited to standard Business Central application context, such as user actions, audit history, or change-log entries managed by the platform and customer configuration. MBS itself focuses on production, batch, and lot behavior and does not describe any separate collection of end-user personal data for its manufacturing features.
• Bricklead’s published privacy policy states that data processing depends on the user’s interactions with Bricklead and its products, and that users may exercise their data protection rights by contacting Bricklead.

Traceability and Auditability

Because MBS strengthens control over batch quantities, production order structure, lot uniqueness, and lot movement integrity, it also contributes to more reliable traceability of production-related records inside Business Central. This is especially relevant in environments where auditability of lot history and batch execution is important.

Examples include:

• Automatic identification of lots as Batch Size Lot in Lot No. Information when output is posted for a batch-controlled item.
• Validation that a batch production order produces only one lot and that the same lot is not reused across different batch production orders.
• Controlled handling of lot reclassification or lot splitting scenarios to protect traceability integrity.

These controls improve data reliability, but they do not replace the customer’s own compliance setup, audit policy, or legal retention obligations within Business Central.

Recommended Privacy and Retention Practices

To maintain strong governance when using Manufacturing Batch Size, organizations should:

• Review who can modify batch-related setup on Items and Production BOMs.
• Control access to production posting and lot reclassification activities that affect batch traceability.
• Ensure standard Business Central retention, backup, and audit mechanisms are aligned with internal compliance requirements.
• Enable and maintain Lot No. Information behavior where required for batch lot traceability
