Catchweight Management integrates directly with standard Dynamics 365 Business Central processes, allowing users to capture and maintain actual weight information alongside inventory quantities throughout the supply chain.

Rather than introducing a large number of dedicated pages, the application extends existing Business Central documents and processes where catchweight information needs to be recorded, maintained, or reviewed.

Items

The item setup is the starting point for Catchweight Management.

For items that require actual weight tracking, users can define the information necessary to ensure that quantity and catchweight are managed together throughout operational transactions.

Typical activities include:

• Enabling Catchweight Management for an item.
• Defining the Catchweight Unit of Measure used to record the actual weight.
• Defining the Handling Unit of Measure used for operational transactions.
• Maintaining the relationship between handling quantities and inventory quantities.

By configuring both the Catchweight Unit of Measure and the Inventory Unit of Measure, organizations can manage products in operational units while simultaneously tracking their actual weight throughout the supply chain.
