Getting Started

This guide will help you configure and start using Inspection Status in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. By following these steps, you can quickly define inspection statuses, configure default assignment rules, and begin controlling how lots are used throughout your business processes.

Before You Begin

Before setting up Inspection Status, ensure that:

• The Advanced Attributes Management (AAT) app is installed, as it is a mandatory dependency for Inspection Status.
• Users responsible for quality, inventory, purchasing, or warehouse operations understand how lot tracking is managed in Business Central.
• You have identified the inspection statuses and quality rules that will be used in your organization.

App Installation and Prerequisites

System Requirements

• Dynamics 365 Business Central (Essential or Premium edition).
• Permissions to install apps from Microsoft AppSource.

Installation Steps

• Navigate to Extension Management in Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Search for “Inspection Status” by Bricklead in AppSource
• Select Install and accept the terms and conditions
• Wait for installation completion (typically 2-3 minutes)
• Refresh your browser to see new menu items

Run Assisted Setup

The fastest way to configure Inspection Status is by using the Assisted Setup wizard. The wizard can automatically create standard inspection statuses, default inspection status rules, and setup values required by the application.

To launch the wizard:

1. Search for Assisted Setup.
2. Select Inspection Status.
3. Follow the guided setup process.
4. Choose whether to create:
   • Inspection Statuses only, or
   • Inspection Statuses and Default Inspection Statuses.
5. Complete the wizard and review the generated setup records.

Configure Inspection Status Setup

Open the Inspection Status Setup page and review the configuration options used throughout the application. Depending on your implementation, setup values may include:

• Item attributes used in default inspection status assignment.
• Vendor attributes used in default inspection status assignment.
• Customer attributes used for inspection status exceptions.
• Default On Hold status for vendor payment management.
• Default reason codes used by integrations and automated processes
