Advanced Lot Management is particularly valuable for organizations that require enhanced control and visibility over inventory lots beyond the standard capabilities available in Business Central.

• Regulated Industry Compliance: Maintain detailed lot records, audit trails, and traceability information required by industry regulations, quality certifications, and customer requirements.
• Product Traceability: Track the complete history of a lot, including its origin, production details, inventory movements, quality information, and related business transactions.
• Standardized Lot Numbering: Generate meaningful and consistent lot numbers using configurable templates that reflect business-specific identification rules.
• Quality and Inspection Processes: Store and maintain additional lot attributes such as production dates, expiration dates, supplier batch references, quality classifications, and inspection results.

Key Concepts and Definitions

Understanding the following concepts will help you get the most value from Advanced Lot Management.

• Advance Lot No. Information: Provides a consolidated view of all inventory lots that currently have stock available in the system. Unlike the standard Lot No. Information List, records are displayed by Location and Bin, allowing users to analyze inventory availability and traceability at a more granular level.
• Advance Lot No. Information (Preview): This page is designed to simplify lot analysis by enabling users to focus on specific inventory scenarios, making it easier to investigate stock availability, traceability requirements, and lot distribution across locations and bins.
• Expiration Date: Date where the lot’s expired. This can be defined on Item Card (if “Require Expiration Date” is False) or on Item Tracking Line when the Item enters in stock.
• Lot Number: A unique identifier assigned to a specific quantity or batch of inventory. It enables traceability throughout purchasing, production, warehousing, and sales processes.
• Lot Number Template: A configurable template used to automatically generate lot numbers based on business-defined rules and numbering structures.
• Sublot: A subdivision of a lot that allows inventory to be tracked at a more granular level. Sublots can be used when additional traceability is required within a single lot.
• Audit Trail: A complete record of lot-related modifications, supporting traceability, accountability, quality management, and compliance requirements.
