Manufacturing Essentials provides a robust framework for managing manufacturing operations within Dynamics 365 Business Central. It simplifies variance tracking, reduces manual errors, and allows you to enforce variance policies across all production processes.

Designed specifically for the Food & Beverage, Consumer Packaged Goods, and process manufacturing industries, the extension addresses unique operational challenges such as lot traceability, batch-level consumption, and co/by-product management.

Feature Summary

Manufacturing Essentials includes the following core features:

• Co/By-Products Management: Co/By-Products are treated as similar types of items but are added at different stages of the production process. Co-Products are typically expected outputs, while By-Products are produced incidentally.

• Process Item Handling (Multiple Order Consumption): In food manufacturing and other process manufacturing industries, it is common practice to produce multiple products on the same line using the same base raw materials (e.g., flour, sugar, corn) stored in silos or tanks. These raw materials are referred to as process items because their consumption is not recorded for each production order individually but may be recorded once daily.

• Manufacturing Variance Management: It simplifies variance tracking, reduces manual errors, and allows you to enforce variance policies across all production processes. Improve Efficiency: Proactively address variances before they escalate into costly production issues. Ensure Accuracy: Reduce waste by maintaining precise controls over consumption and output. • Manufacturing Backflushing: With a focus on process manufacturing, this extension is meticulously designed to address the unique challenges encountered in production operations, such as backflushing for lot-tracked items. The standard backflush functionality is enhanced to automatically calculate and post lot-tracked items when using the backward flushing method. Additionally, it extends to automatically assign item tracking codes at all possible steps of the production process.
